CEMENT MOONS/CEMENT "CLAY" RECIPE

Moon faces made awhile back with various mortar recipes. Most have held up well. I've settled on a recipe using 5 parts sand, 3 parts clay, 2 parts Portland cement, and 3 parts builder's lime. Sometimes I add a small gob of asphalt emulsion. Maliable and durable for outside.

"Une Fille" Polymer Clay Sculpture

This is another older piece, but one that I love. She is Super Sculpey over a copper wire armature. I started using 6 - 8 AUG  copper ground wire for armature way back when because it was available at the big box hardware stores. It was cheaper and more available than aluminum wire at the time and, of course, easier to manipulate than steel wire. The arms are ususally thinner aluminum wire.  She is about eleven inches tall.

"Retired At Last" Polymer Clay Sculpture

Figures are about eleven inches tall, made of Super Sculpey modeled over copper and aluminum armature, and brush painted with acrylics. Turf is sand and good ol' Elmer's Glue. This piece was completed in 2022.

"JAZZ" POLYMER CLAY/MIXED MEDIA SCULPTURE

This is a large piece. The figures are about 11.5 inches tall and made of Super Sculpey over steel and aluminum wire. The bricks are of foam board, the floor of craft sticks, and rest are of bits and pieces. All are painted with acrylics.
